F10 Expiration Date Question
Back in the middle of May of this year, I ordered a 200ml bottle of F10 from Reptile Basics. The bottle I received from them had an expiration date of December 2013 (roughly 7 months after I received the bottle). Is such a short shelf life for F10 normal? If not, I'll contact Reptile Basics and ask for an exchange. Otherwise, I'll have learned my lesson as I just don't see anyway I'm going to use the entire bottle (or even half the bottle) in the next 5-6 months.
(I've been meaning to post this question for the past six weeks, but kept forgetting to do so.)
Thanks in advance.

That's short.

Re: F10 Expiration Date Question
I would have to double check the info on the website but I believe F10 remains potent for 24 months past expiration.
I just looked at the tech data and it is actually good for 36 monyhs past expiration.

Then why even have an "expiration" date? Maybe it should be called the 36 month warning, instead.

Re: F10 Expiration Date Question
Better than Chlorahex...the blue stuff...that expires in a month after mixing!

Because chemicals have to be labeled a certain way, especially if they are transported. It's most likely a "ship-shelf" expiration date, which means it has to ship by then, not necessarily be used by then. Reptile Basics would probably be the better place to ask the original question, though.
