Im not sure if it was the brand but I had 3 running at the same time and I was constantly adjusting them throughout the day. I would set them and all would be at 88 then down to 82 and back up to 94 all depending if my heat or air condition was on. I will never use dimmers again.
You had 3 on the same switch? I have all mine on different switches.

No scattered about the house maintaining certain heat mat temperatures under glass tanks. I just prefer the preciseness of a thermostat. I will be upgrading to a herpstat as I get more snakes someday.

I keep all my snakes in my bedroom, and to help me out I just put a small fan to blow on my face while I sleep.
I use a dimmer for my light and a thermostat for the UTH pad. Mainly at night though as we do see a bit of a temp dip then and I try to maintain constant temps for my girl.
My second bp is being delivered to me tomorrow. CL find and after extensive texting with the guy I think Cheddar will fit in with me nicely. He's about a year old, very established f/t eater. You should have seen the look on my husbands face when I ummmm 'told' him. This one may need to stay at work wi me.
If you do use a thermostat though you need to make sure you put it to where the prob doesn't fall off or the snake can't move it otherwise it can raise the temp significantly.
Between the UTH and bottom of the tank works, the snake can't move it since it's not in the tank.

Yes, that's the proper place to put it but I've seen many people not do this. I wouldn't bother with a thermostat in my case because I run a 2 lamp system and 2 UTH's.
