We're trying to make the software more intuitive with each update. The v96 and v97 both have warnings on install to go backup, and restore when updating.

Sorry you lost some data! Hope you had a recent backup to import.

I'm still waiting to get the link for the trial version so I can see how I like it before I purchase it.
