Clutch #2 is starting to hatch!

2013 Clutch #2 started to pip last night. After the first 3 pipped I couldn't help myself and cut the last 5 eggs!
Pairing was Lesser x Normal and it looks like we ended up with 4 Lessers and 4 Normals




Today when I got home the first little Lesser had made its way out.

Well these guys are taking their time and slowly making their way out.
So far 3 Lessers and 3 Normals have come out. Unfortunately the odds with the sexes hasn't been great, but we're always happy with healthy babies.

What's up with the two in the middle? They don't look like regular Lessers...

I'm not exactly sure. They definitely have a lighter look plus that pinkish tint.
I'll have to see what they look like after they shed out.
Mom is a nice light Normal.

Hmmm...Mom's a looker. I wonder if you're on to something a little special here? I'd be interested in seeing the post shed pics.

I remember someone making a similar observation last year, and the consensus was that they had a platty daddy rather than a lesser. I couldn't tell you if these little guys are or not though.
