Caramel is a recessive gene. So to get babies that look like a caramel BOTH parents have to have the gene whether they are visual or het for it. There are a lot of pretty caramels but some people don't care to work with them because of kinking issues or issues with females having slug eggs (non viable eggs). I'm also diving into the caramel glow project. I got a package deal on some hatchlings a couple years ago (RIGHT before the Ultramel came into the scene...go figure, lol) but I still think the caramel glow superceeds the ultramel in color personally. And my project is ready to breed this season (1.1 are locking now) so I am excited. I also have heard of the kinking being known in certain lines and inbreeding. I have unrealted pairs that come from lines without known kinks (supposedly ) so we shall see. I still love the caramel morphs though. One of my favorites!
