How early to set up egg tub?

I am possibly expecting a clutch. She is showing the signs of building now and has been for roughly 6 days. Still choosing the cool side of her tub.

How early do most people set up their egg tubs? Pre lay shed? Ovulation?

My incubator is set up on a VE thermostat at 89f with water bottles and stays steady. Its been set up for almost 2 weeks.

About 20 days after pre-lay shed. So typically I like to have the egg tub set up in the incubator for a couple days before I get eggs.

I usually prepare the egg box when eggs are on the ground already. But I keep my empty egg boxes inside the incubator, same as water, so when I prepare it has almost the same temperature as the whole incubator .

I do the same. Keep the boxes in the incubator. I also keep a bag of Hatchrite in the incubator so it's the same temp as everything else...

I do mine a year in advance. Why procrastinate?

I set my egg tubs up a few months ahead of time. but I leave them dry and just keep them and a jug of filtered water in the incubater. so when they lay a clutch you just fill it with water and it's ready.

Mine is pretty much always ready to go. All I have to do is plug in the thermostat and computer fan and everything else is ready. I turn it on and start running it as soon as I see the first pre-lay shed.
