    interesting spider

    Hi everybody,
I bought this spider het ghost in december and when i bought him he looked like any regular spider but then once he shed a couple weeks later he was a totally different colour. He seems to have lost his colour he has become more of a whitish colour but not all over mostly in the lower half of his body but still has some bleached out spots on his neck. I brought him to the guy who i bought him from and he said it could be some sort of bacteria he could have swallowed and it did this to him, he also said that he had one that he had bought that was like this. He told me that the colour would slowly come back after a couple sheds but he has shed a couple times since and he hasnt really changed. Here are some pics of him tell me what you guys think.

    Thanks for looking!

I see the color difference you're talking about. Very neat, no idea what could have caused it though

Rick, if you look at the back end of the snake in the full body pics, you can see the color shift from brown to a lighter creamy brown.

My spider has the bleached look on her neck circles, they have gotten lighter with sheds. I figured it was just normal for her. She doesn't have the change in color down her body though. No signs of infection and the skin looks normal, she is a pig and sheds out fine. Could it just be the pigment of your snake? Having said that I've only seen a few spiders in my time
Just to add could it possibly have anything to do with the het ghost?

I dont think its the het ghost showing because when i first got him he looked like any other spider. He has no infections and his scales look fine. Looks like its a mystery :p
