Fed live for first time tonight ....

..... all went well , maybe a lil too well ..... now the debate, should I keep feeding live or see if he goes back to f/t ....cost and availability seem to be a non factor.

Frozen has the factor of convenience. If a frozen rat isn't eaten, you toss it. If a live rat isn't eaten, you get a pet rat for a week, and hope it gets eaten before it grows too big.

I wish more of my snakes ate f/t. It really is more convenient, rather than going to a pet store (or wherever you get your feeders from). But basically, if the snake will take both, just do what is more convenient for you.

i feel like live is more convenient. if a frozen rat isn't eaten, you toss it, and you're out a few bucks. if i live rat isn't eaten, you put it back in the tub with the rest of the rats until next week. plus with frozen you have to wait for them to thaw out and all that fun stuff. with live you just grab and go. to each their own though. the only animal i have eating frozen right now is my retic and that's just because when he gets up to rabbits i want him to already be used to frozen.
