They are all over the southeast. They are called Ricers down here. Not sure why. 90% of the time it's a 4 cyl Honda Civic. Usually include "Fart Cannon", "Angry Bee", or "Motorcycle Impersonation" exhaust kits.

The car in question is not a Ricer. Ricers refer to Rice+Racer. Aka Asian Racer cars because they are Japanese import models. For example, Honda Civics, Honda Integras, Mitsubishi Lancer Evos, etc

Yup, 100% intended to look like a Super Bird. Not to my taste, but I understand why they did it. Sort of the same deal as when I saw an early 90's Porsche 911 (964, for those who know/care) with an old-school 70's style ducktail spoiler on it and a paint job to match. I actually thought it looked kinda cool in that case, but on some level, the shape of the 911 has only changed a little bit in the 50 years it's been around, so a "retro" custom job maybe makes a bit more sense there.

Another pet peeve of mine (this one for Mustangs, being a fellow Mustang owner and lover): deep dish on the front/all four deep dish wheels. Just no. It drives me crazy.
I agree with that. I've had so many mustangs, and the only reason you really run deep dish in the back is to offset running a 10" wide rim. Of course when I ran my 03/04 cobra's on my 1997 Cobra I didn't do deep dish because the offset was okay.

Here was my mustang that I just got rid of earlier this month:

The guy I got the car from owned a custom shop and this was his personal vehicle. I'm by far a Ford fan, but I'm getting older and if I keep a sports car I'm going to sink money into it, so I sold it and got a Honda that gets 30mpg.

I don't think it's so bad. Whatever floats your boat I guess. The guy probably just wanted to have a car that looks like it was worth a quarter million like these... http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/...outh/superbird

Yea, but that was standard on those cars, and those cars could pull it off. With the way the cars look now, it's not pulling it off well at all.
