    It looks like a light pastel to me. Axanthic babies are silver and black when born, no yellow on them. I don't think the pastel gene would cause some yellow to appear so much as it would lighten the silver color.

    Yep, thats a Pastel. Once they shed its alot easier to tell. Goodluck on the rest of the eggs!

    Hey Guys,

    #2 is out!! What do you make of this. My first impression is normal but seeing as how I've never hatched out any snakes before, is it normal for them to have two different colors. The spine is almost yellow but it's sides are brownish.

    Isnt it exciting when that happens??? I got to finally see one of my babies emerge from the egg last summer! Ive always missed "the emergence". I called it "butterball" to identify it as the first butter outta the egg....in about two weeks, little "Butterball" will be celebrating her 1st b-day....almost 900g too!

    Oh man is it ever! I was seriously considering selling my whole collection, but after this experience I think I might be hooked for life!!

    OMG...when I see noses poking outta eggs...be they normal or be they banana-pied-hypo-clown-superstripe, I just squeeee all over the place!!! So exciting when the babies come!
