Does anyone else wonder how the snakes on that list can combine to worth $30,000? They must be counting their snakes before they hatch!

Hopefully these dirtbags slip and they get caught. What a damn shame that this happens in the hobby.

Well, if they're going to estimate value they might as well add in the expected value of the offspring currently in utero as well. It is something that they're losing with the theft.

Should narrow down the field a bit

If I were in their shoes, I'd be handing over the names and phone numbers of anyone who had been at their residence in the last month. It would be a place to start. The police could perhaps get warrants to search the homes of anyone who has been there recently. Or at least watch their homes for suspicious activity.

Me personally, if the police approached me saying that I was a person of interest in a recent snake theft, I would have no trouble letting them search my home. Anything that might help.

Maybe someone could suggest that to them.

That'd be an heck of an imposition on your friends, though. Maybe a better thing to do would be to contact them yourself and tell them that the police are trying to narrow down their suspects and ask if they'd be at home to show the cops around tomorrow... anyone that acted really shady about putting it off or flat-out refused jumps to the top of the suspect list, and the cops can get a warrant from there.

Of course, on the downside that might encourage the culprits to ditch the animals.

I wish the best for these people, but as to the search, I would have to refuse, the victims are more then welcome to look at my place, but when it comes to the police or other agency's looking into my home, no, not without a warrant! Sorry just the way I feel.

p.s. I also looked into Rhabdophis , thanks for that! Did not know!

Just figured I would update this here. Someone posted an article in another thread and after a little looking it appears they have recovered their animals!
