Any non toxic spray on clear coat should do the job as long as you use it properly. Which means completely cleaning and drying the item, spraying a coat on, letting it completely dry, and repeating for a couple layers of protection. As long as it'sa clean, smooth, and vapor free layer it should do well for you.
