I know you already said you don't really handle your collection but calling it harassing is a bit much. I could not imagine having a collection that I didn't handle. I think if the only stress or "harassing" a snake gets is being held for a brief time is a pretty easy life. They get a nice penthouse apartment with perfect weather and a steady diet of gourmet rodents brought to them. I think this is far less than one would encounter in the wild.

While I will agree that our snakes may have specific needs that makes them some what high maintenance to keep. I have said before that I think they are far more resilient than they are given credit. I never do any more than hold my snakes and let them crawl on and around me, and I really don't do it often, but I think they put up with me rather well. I don't think it has any ill effect on them.

I like the credit card idea. I will have to try it.
