I wouldn't say I think. I know this is incubation effect. I see like 40,000 new baby snakes every year. When you see that many and see what incubation can do, it's just something I've learned I guess. I call it melting or incubation effect.
Every snake has a genetic appearance. Could be normal, could be pastel, could be whatever. Could be a busy pattern normal, could be an elevated pattern normal, could be anything. Some call it selective breeding, I simply call it genetics. There are many snakes that take on an appearance that is not of their genetic structure. Even mutations can do that. Understanding what incubation pattern deformity looks like is what I do.
Doesn't mean a morph doesn't take on a pattern deformity. I hatched a new morph last year from a snake that had incubation effect and the offspring looks nothing like it. Because it was a morph that had a developmental problem during incubation. I'm sure this is all confusing, but its what I have learned through my experience.
