There is always a market, that is what competition is for! Personally I don't use iHerp as my collection is just not that big and only limited to snakes and one T. I found an app on the apple market called SnakeKeeper that suites my needs perfect. If you see a need, and a potential customer base, and it's something that you would enjoy putting together, I would say go for it. Don't get discouraged just because their is a similar product already out there.
