How to supervise
Hey guys, this may be a stupid question but how do you supervise your bp feeding. I know you have to watch and be sure it goes okay but are there any steps or measures you should take to help per say? I mean if the rat starts biting my ball whilst being constricted i cant just separate them. I'm not sure what to do to prevent injury to my bp when feeding live and supervising. I have nothing against frozen but I just thought i would feed her a live one. The last time she got scratched and bit so im skeptical and dont want that to happen again. If you can shed some light on this that would be great, thanks.

The safest way would be to switch to F/T, if you don't have anything against it. If you've tried F/T and she just won't take it, you can have a pencil or pair of tongs on hand to stick in the rat's mouth with it goes to bite her.

Keep something with you like a pencil or your feeding tongs. If you watch them strike, and see that the mouse/rat is going to bite, shove the tongs in its mouth.

I drop the animal in and stay nearby with a pair of feeding tongs. I wait until I hear the strike and then peek in to make sure they got a good wrap, if not, I stick the tongs in the rat's mouth to stop them from hurting my snake.
