    SK vs Jolliff vs VPI?

What's the real difference between them? I know most people favor the VPI line but why? I want to get a pastel axanthic female this summer but I don't know which to start with. I probably wouldn't do Jolliff. JD constriction works with SK and I do like the snakes he's produced. Does one line hold their color better than the other?

Brit (Anatopism) just got a sweet pastel ax. Im not sure who she got him from. I'm not a huge fan of ax combos, but that baby she got is hot!

Like all morphs there are good ones and bad. Popularity can be a downfall sometimes when people breed poor examples. I've seen good and bad of all lines. I have a smoking Proven Jolliff Pastel het Ax and Ax female that are both really nice. They produced some really nice Pastel Ax babies a couple years ago. This line isn't super common so it would be a hard sell for people that use VPI or TSK stuff.

    B

I personally like the VPI line a little bit more, but John (JD constriction) has some AWESOME SK axanthics that I would consider purchasing. I don't think you would be sorry if you purchased an axanthic from him. I might even get into the SK line eventually even though I have 5 snakes that carry the VPI version.

John is also talking about doing more tests in the future to see if the lines are compatible. I don't think anyone has really tried pairing visual SK to visual VPI at all recently. I might be wrong though.

Re: SK vs Jolliff vs VPI?

People favor VPI because they are known to hold their colors the best. They generally don't brown out as bad as the other lines. There are exceptions of course, but this is generally what's said.

Re: SK vs Jolliff vs VPI?

Brit's Pastel SK Axanthic is a very nice one. She picked out the best one I had available at the time

As far as line compatibility I know that Joliff and VPI are not compatible and the results have been publicly stated. I haven't heard of a homozygous to homozygous VPI to SK or SK to Joliff breeding being done and the results being publicly stated. Lots of talk tho and a couple het to het breedings here or there.

I actually recently got a VPI female to give it a whirl in a few years if no-one beats me to it.

    Hope that helps!

I've had SK and VPI. I prefer VPI as adults. Here is my 2000 gram Pastel VPI female. She is due to lay in the next few weeks. Hopefully we get some Axanthic Bumble Bees. We have another Pastel het VPI also due to lay in the next month.

As for compatibility, none of the lines are compatible. All of them have been bred together.

Re: SK vs Jolliff vs VPI?

    Hey Brandon,
Do you know who did the breedings? I've asked around and gotten nothing confirmed is the reason I ask. It's always "I heard so and so bred them together" and it doesn't go anywhere. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
