If you are determined to get a visual female, then yes that will work fine. You will just limit yourself in the long term as far as overall odds.

ok i get it now lol. if i get a female i can only breed once a year, but if i get a male, i can breed it to multiple 'het clowns' a year, giving me even more chances to acheive my goal or other morphs. the only downfall of this is that it takes a while for these het clown females to grow, but will pay off in the long run
