Where to place thermostat probe in back heat rack?

I'm building a 4 shelf high closed air rack for my snakes out of melemine, I'm using 2 feet of 11" flexwatt hooked up to my herpstat as back heat. I was wondering where I should place the thermostat probe? This is my first rack, so I'm not sure.

You want to place it on the heat tape near the middle shelf. Just secure it with foil tape but don't put any tape on the temp probe (that can insulate the probe and give you false readings). When you turn on your thermostat, just double check the tub temps frequently before you put any snakes in there.

Congrats on your new additions! Working towards BELs?

I built my own rack in August and the problem I ran into was that the wiring on one of my pieces of flexwatt wasn't completing the circuit so it wasn't turning on. So double checking temps not only ensures that it's on and heating...but also that it's not overheating (but...assuming you have a pretty good thermostat, it shouldn't be a problem)

Well actually they're both females, and their hatchlings. But later down the road I'm going to get them a nice 3 gene male
Oh yeah I'm not getting the snakes for about another 3 weeks (friend of mine is letting me hand pick from the clutch ) but I'm building the rack starting Sunday, the start of my spring break,so ill have the rack built and temps stable by the time I get the new girls. And yeah I have a herpstat 1, so I have a good thermostat.

My goal is to save up for a 3 gene male with mojave in it, maybe a mojave bumblebee, so even if I don't get BELs, I get some pretty wicked combos!

I second the idea of a mojave bumblebee. Lesserbees, pastaves, BELs, etc. Great combos!
