Re: Dangerous ball pythons..?
Some idiot that doesn't know jack about animals just purchased a stock photo of some generic python and they liked the purty colours on that BP pic.
They are going of extremes in worst case scenario's to get ratings as well.
None of us want to see even an itty-bitty sand boa kept by someone that isn't prepared to look after them properly but, that doesn't get viewer. Some fool with a monster snake and no clue how to handle it, feed it, or read its' body language does get ratings, it is sort of like a hypothetic Darwin Award show instead of a Nature/Animal show.

I just got tagged by my 700g pied last night. My first time ever getting bit. I didnt even realise I got tagged till I saw I had blood on my hand.
The only thing any snake is a danger to is rats.

I can see owning a large constrictor snake is NOT for everyone and requires proper husbandry and safety precautions. But most snakes that are in the pet trade are harmless. And it aggrivates me that animal planet has zero knowledge on keeping a snake as a pet and frowns upon it. Take the quiz.. it says if your in a dark room hiding the snake is going to find you by its infered sences. Its just rediculous how they word things to scare viewers.

In a way... I'd rather have them deflecting the idiots who get ideas from Animal Planet.
If they REALLY wanted a pet python, they would do research elsewhere, and join a forum like this!
