From what I have heard.. Only females can't reproduce as they die when preggo or something along those lines.. I don't think it's 100% confirmed that they can't breed but it hasnt been successfull yet

I do find bees pretty interesting, but I'm not exactly wowed by them so I don't think I'd be willing to shell out hundreds of dollars for one. But holy moly deserts are gorgeous! I've never heard of that morph, thanks for the tip guys! I think I'm gonna start the hunt for a desert female =)
this forum is a godsend xD

    http://www.owalreptiles.com/issues.php

some morphs have known issues. most morphs are totally fine, on their own and in all possible combination. for "desert" it says: female fertility issues. and it means, breed them and bad things can happen. im no expert and dont know what exactly, but i guess it must be really bad because noone breeds them. Apart from that they are totally fine.

Morph suggestions for someone who doesn't intend to breed

Albino is always a hot choice. There seems to be a lack of love for albinos recently. I don't know why?

hmm ive done some light browsing for deserts so far and it seems that some female desert morphs are thousands of dollars! why so much for a snake that can't breed? Do you guys think $300 is a fair price for a female desert?

I agree completely! Albinos are great. I think they don't get much love because so many other co-dom morphs are out there now. And a lot of folks on the forum are trying there hands at breeding. People don't wanna play with recessives as much. If I were looking for a "pet" an albino would be the first thing I would consider.

I suggest Albino, hypo, pinstripe, mojave, or lesser.
You can get male hypo pastel, pewters, super pastels, lemon blasts, bees, etc for $350 or less.

Female deserts have deformed reproductive tracts, which is why they slug out or become egg bound.
