Me and my boyfriend do our "cheats" once and a while. So we aren't very strict strict. I have to have a sweet once and a while. And I need coffee with cream and sugar. So it's not hard core. But for the most part we have been doing pretty good. And losing while still having our cheat days XD. You're the second person I've met that's a vegetarian so nice to me you!

Squash is such an underrated food! You can just cut up any squash in cubes and bake it with some oil and pepper until it's soft! Butternut squash is my favourite. I'm having butternut squash & red pepper soup for dinner tonight!
One of my favourites is red, orange and yellow peppers, zuccini and garlic, roasted in the oven until the peppers are soft. I usually put spices like Italian or parsley, and I like to use onion powder as well! I bake them at 350 - 375 F, depends on the day .
Instead of mashed potatoes, I love making cauliflower mash. I just steam some cauliflower, mash it just like you would potatoes. I always add parsley (DRY OR FRESH), and always add some raw garlic, chopped. MMm!
I don't eat this - but a favourite is always stuffed peppers. Get some of the long, sweet peppers, or even just regular sweet peppers (red, yellow or orange). Cut them in half (the long ones) or the top off (in regular peppers) and obviously take the seeds out. Stuff them with garlic, mushrooms, olives, and any other veg you may like, and put some spices like paprika. You need some cheese like mozarella.
Put all of the stuffing into a bowl and mix it with some oil - then spoon the mixture into the peppers. Cook at 350F near the top of an oven for 30 min.
Do you like beets? They're a very nutritious and delicious side. I cook them myself and don't add anything. You can get pickled ones in jars though.
My favourite salad is mixed greens, with avacado, dried cranberries, raw sunflower seeds, sliced almonds and cubed apples with raspberry vinaigrette. Mmmm.
Reach for the stars, and if you don't grab them at least you'll fall on top of the world.

I second roasted! BBQ is a good way of doing it too.
Why keep a snake? Why keep any animal? Because you enjoy the animal, find something beautiful and fascinating about it, and it fits seamlessly into your lifestyle.

I found this great cookbook that might actually help you guys sort out this whole mess. It gave me a whole new perspective on how effective and easy the diet really is.

You guys should try the Mulberry Granola. It's my favorite!

my wife and I have changed eating habits( more helpful to me so far lol)
we cut out almost all soda, fast food and such items eating more fish and chicken and turkey ( I luv turkey). I lost some weight since we lived together but I also lost a lot of muscle mass we seen over the last year. mainly cause I not as active here as I would be when I lived at my mothers. ( I pick up little odd jobs almost every day and so I kept active more. . Living in upper Delaware I don't know he area as well or a 1/8th of the people that I did before. I have model legs ( just hairy and bony lol) and I still got my gut, and my arms are about half their thickness that use to be. ( my wife possible happy about that I won't crush her ribs when I hug her lol..
Was married to 4theSNAKElady (still wish we were)
Ball pythons
0.1 pieds 1.0 banana pied
0.1 het pied
3.1 sugar gliders ( non breeding pets)

Well that can be easy to take care of with regular exercise !
While diet is the most important part of being healthy and fit, you can't skip out on the exercise. With the changed/healthier diet, you'll lose weight, but you'll never tone up unless you exercise!
