I have three and no intentions of breeding...though I did recently buy a female, so who knows what will happen later down the line!

I have 26 snakes right now and have two more coming soon. I could care less about the money. All I want is to see my babies grow up happy and healthy, and make me more happy, healthy babies with hopefully more cool, crazy, patterns and colors. I would have no problem keeping every single baby if I had the time and space for them all. Honestly, I think I will have a hard time letting some of them go.

All of mine are pets. I am hoping to breed in the next season or two if I'll have enough time, but that would also strictly be for fun

x2. My plan is the same for awhile. If i can eventually work my way up to where I'm making enough money to support the hobby itself ill be happy. If i can ever end up actually making money from it, as in like a second income, id be ecstatic. But even at that level ill be producing whatever I want, not what will make me money. :p

Why has nobody pointed out or signatures? Most of us here put or collections big or small in the signature area.

I only have one normal ball with no intentions of breeding them. My bloods are what I'm gonna take a shoot at breeding, but they are still fun to have. I just got three yearling albino x bangka that I can't wait to see how they turn out. The albino was the sire produced by Kara and the bangka was produced by Cris Lipps. That's some good stock and it gives me high hopes.

Re: Anyone here collect balls for fun?

I don't think many people on this forum are into BPs strictly for the money. Sure it would be a plus when breeding, but its not the reason we keep these animals. These animals are beautiful, amazing, and interesting to keep, which is why I own my snakes. And for those looking to make a quick buck are quickly sorted through.

I honestly don't think I'll ever make a profit breeding. I'm fine with that. But I'm not against making some money to put back into the hobby.

Re: Anyone here collect balls for fun?

I have two and will be getting (at least) a third this next year. I, like many, started with the intense fascination with such a beautiful animal. Once the first one was brought home and you see all the possibilities...One turned into two. Two is turning into a compulsion I am having a hard time curbing.

Obviously you have to love (and respect) the animals you'll be giving a home to. There are a lot of snake species out there and I am sorry to say...Ball Pythons are my favorite. They get big...but not too big. Their personalities are as unique and amazing as they are to their individual colorings and patterns. I am not in a rush to simply collect all I can in a short period of time..but the ones I do select...blow me away and bring a lot of joy to me and my family. My two sons LOVE them and my wife adores them (she's a keeper).

So yes, at this point, our BPs are had for fun...who knows what tomorrow will bring. Maybe the FedEx man!

RE: Anyone here collect balls for fun?

Our "collection" is strictly for fun and as a hobby, as will be the breeding. I love the animals and breeding is just a huge reward in the hobby IMPO. Although I look at like this, if I woke up tomorrow and someone told me I could quit my job and spend all my time with my balls, and make a living, I wouldn't turn it down. I think everyone would like to do something they love everyday, and making money at it is just another cherry on top.
