Mine was pretty cheap. Just make sure to see the range of the scale. Some wont weight things that are pretty light while others won't weigh things very heavy. Make sure its range will work for you.

Any scale is fine as long as it measures anywhere form 2g-4000g.

    Re: what scale to buy?

i would get a 2 grams / 2000 grams digital one, meaning it goes to 2000 grams in 2-gram steps. that gives you the precision for weighing small pinkies and fuzzies, while also covering adult BPs, and these scales are quite cheap.

oh and, when it comes to snakes, the metric system has taken over, so a scale with the US unit system, meaning lbs and ounces, would be quite useless.

I have a few girls that are over 2000g, so I find it useful that my scale goes up to 5kg - and it was only ~$25 at Walmart.

2g / 5000g would of course be even better if you can find one lol i guess this has changed since i looked for a scale last time.... now they have 1g/5kg scales now they are cheaper and more precise than i remembered. last time i checked the best ones were like 2g/2kg or 10g/5kg.

now i really have to think about getting a new one.

Yeah, mine won't weigh under ~4g (was playing with pinky mice!), but it goes in 1g increments otherwise.
