"Still a felony if it comes from across state lines." You just have to look at the keys beside the "x" and "a" on the keyboard.

Does it have to be a burmese? There are plenty of other bigger boas and pythons that are legal to transport across state lines and are also beautiful and a pleasure to take care of.

There is a rescue program through the Chicago herp society, but you must be a member in order to foster. I am not sure what animals they have at the moment but you can find out at their open-to-the-public meeting that is held once a month at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum.

Honestly, I would just go for a different species. There is still a lot to choose from.

I guess it doesnt have to be a burm. Just that a burm was the first big snake was ever interested in. If i won the lottery i'd have 1 of everything.

Maybe a female BCC? Those get some serious size on them as well and are (for now) legal in most if not all states as well as transporting across state lines

    Re: Burms in Illinois

May I suggest craigslist. It's not an ideal place but if you google Illinois burm breeders and you don't find anything then there's always someone on craigslist trying to find homes for their pets.
