    from what i heard you should of got a female first then a male a year later, unless you plan on buying a big female.

    Not necessarily. He'll just have to wait longer to breed the female. Just because a male CAN breed once it's 2-3 years old and/or producing sperm plugs, doesn't mean he HAS to. He can wait and grow up more until the female is also mature enough. I bought my male Argentine before the female. He is an early 2010 and she is a late 2011. He is ready to breed now - nearly 6ft long, 2200 gm, producing sperm plugs, and hubba-hubba, lol. It will be a good 3 more years before the female is ready as I grow my babies slowly. That's ok by me - I buy top quality animals when I find them and that sometimes means buying the male first.
