You need to get or make a bulb cover (not sure where to find one, see them all the time with keepers in the UK) because that bulb will burn your snake if it touches it. Also, is that the only heat source for the tank, or are you running a UTH as well. It would be a bit of work, but you could change the setup so that a UTH (on a thermostat of course) provides the hot spot, and a fluorescent light provides ambient temps and viewing light. This way you wouldn't lose as much humidity because of the bulb.

I would make sure to cover up that bulb, and if you have a second heat source I would unplug the bulb. Hope this helps,
