Absolutely not. I've seen more than a few of my FB friends fall victim to some random person friending them that turned out to be a scammer/hacker that posted links that compromised their accounts.

I find that I use Facebook less and less now. Too many adds, and the fact that they can use your info/profile picture for advertising really puts me off. I understand that they are a company and they need to turn a profit, but they are going about it wrong. I would gladly pay a reasonable monthly fee ($15-$25) to get an add free/more private Facebook account.
