    I think we've just about dropped "caramel" off the Ultramel and Crider (still waiting to see if those two are the same) mutations names. It's very confusing as perhaps one of them was the original "caramel" but neither has anything to do with the unrelated mutation that is now called caramel.

    As far as I know all lines of the actual caramel mutation kink and the tendency is part of the mutation and not related to inbreeding. I think the main source of the rumor that you have better odds of avoiding kinks by using het caramels was because the homozygous caramel females tend to lay sluggs.

    While I've not heard of any problems with albino ball pythons I have heard of eye problems with one of the albino boa morphs but I've not followed it much. What sort of incubation problems (hot or cold) cause eye problems in ball pythons? Maybe the albino boas tend not to heat regulate right as a side effect of that boa albino mutation.
