    To the OP: I wouldn't trade a dead stale housefly for that animal, if it were me. He looks to be in bad shape as has been noted and husbandry is non-existent there. If you're able to, absolutely rescue him but be prepared for what that could entail: potential exposure of your collection to illness/disease, several hundred dollars invested in vet visits only to have the animal die anyway, etc. Rescuing one is a noble thing to do but be sure you can take on the responsibility of a sick, potentially dying animal before you jump in and let your emotions lead your head. Good luck and hope it works out for the best for you and that poor animal both.
