To the OP: I wouldn't trade a dead stale housefly for that animal, if it were me. He looks to be in bad shape as has been noted and husbandry is non-existent there. If you're able to, absolutely rescue him but be prepared for what that could entail: potential exposure of your collection to illness/disease, several hundred dollars invested in vet visits only to have the animal die anyway, etc. Rescuing one is a noble thing to do but be sure you can take on the responsibility of a sick, potentially dying animal before you jump in and let your emotions lead your head.
