Has nothing to do with mice vs rats...it's that the seller is only feeding one (1) mouse a week. If the seller was feeding appropriately (multiple mice per feeding) it would be normal size. The problem with mice is just that...you have to feed multiple prey items each feeding...makes it a pita...

^ This. If the seller was still only feeding one rat pup per week (size equivalent), the snake would still be undersized. That doesn't mean he won't make it up with a vengeance if given the opportunity. I picked up a CL pinstripe female that was 3 years old and 900g. She was only being fed one rat every two weeks. Six months and one small rat every week later, and she has topped 1600g!

Free BP on craiglist, should I?
I ment it as mice are small and he was only feeding one a week. I had done the same thing petco said one mouse a week whole life.. But yeah it was more about size not just the mice feeding just rat pups would be same results if there is no increase in pray if that makes sense sorry posting when tired is too easy because of tapatalk

Check out Rodentpro's mouse vs rat comparison chart. Not much difference nutritionally. It's about size for sure, as Carlson already pointed out.

Did anyone consider that these are possibly old pictures? I would go see him personally before you make a decision if that's at all possible. There is just no way a 3 year old could be that small even if he wasn't eating on a decent schedule.

Sadly, I think it is possible considering he is getting fed the same as a one month old does in my collection. However, you do bring up a good point about the picture.
