Really disappointed with some people's integrity...

CL is full of shady people. I recently sold a Butter to a guy and gave him a REALLY good deal because he seemed cool, and well, I'm just a nice guy. A few days later, I see a CL ad for a Butter, and sure enough, it was the snake I had sold him. He was asking over double what I sold him for, or would trade for a game system or some other crap. It was his snake to do with what he wanted, but I still felt offended that I gave him such a great deal and he turns around and tries to flip the snake or trade it for some junk. I thought I was hooking up a fellow breeder/hobbyist, but apparently it was just a way to make some quick cash or get a new game system. Lovely...

I totally hear ya - that is a bummer! That was really nice of you to give him a good deal, and I know what you mean about trying to do a nice thing for a 'fellow hobbyist/breeder' only to have them turn around and not appreciate what you did! You're right, it was his snake to do as he pleased, but it's still just disappointing. It makes good people not want to go out of their way for others. It's okay, karma has a funny way of working you will receive good because you did good.

You are not gonna find customer service and professionalism on CL, why? Because those people don't care they are here one day gone the next.

i dont agree . i sell on craigslist alot in my area and i make a point to answer all questions honestly.
and i back every animal that i sell. I have met alot of return customers through craigslist(and get alot of updates on animals that i have sold).
i have met shady breeders at shows and met great breeders at shows if a person is shady they are shady it doesnt matter where they put ads at.
i have met good and bad folks on cl but its is all the same people are going to be people(good or bad) everywhere.
If thats the case you would never have any bad guy threads on fauna or anywhere else if the shady people are on on craigslist(they are everywhere fauna,ks,cl,facebook,etc) just ask as many questions as you can until you are satisfied.

I think my only problem in this CL case was the crazy other potential buyer for this snake. The guy in question (John Ellison) even went so far as to personally threaten the seller because he sold the snake to me and not him. I offered a higher price than John who wanted to low ball the seller. Sorry for your luck, John.

The seller, Billy Wilson (I believe he's a member on here as well...?), has done nothing wrong and wasn't shady in the least. He sold me a perfectly healthy female Kingpin with documentation, and we plan to keep in touch great CL pick up for me, aside from the crazy other buyer!
