BS! Back then you were allowed to nail the qb's. Nowadays when Jpp or wilfork breath on the qb too hard theres a flag. I have wayyy more respect for qbs back then. Brady and eli are both sallies compared to the iron men.
as big of a Brady fan I am. I couldnt have said it better. QBs from back then had to be *athletes. NO way some of the QBs today withstand the beating like qbs in the 70s and 80s and still play at a high level. thats why qbs back then didnt last as long. And as far as injuries and bigger and stronger players, its not true. Everyone looks bigger and stronger now becasue they wear no pads. the shoulder pads dont even cover their shoulders. its stupid. If i was a RB or a LB, Id put the old school big *** shoulder pads on and smash people. BUt of course, on the other hand, theyd call too many penalties.

WE all just saw how serious minor KNee injuries are with RG3 getting hurt yesterday and his knee wasnt even that bad. AP destroyed all three main ligaments. Came back in less than a year. And almost broke the all time rushing yd record. Peyton opted to have his surgery because it was a *nagging* injury. It never prevented him from playing. And doctors said their was no risk of re-injurying. C'mon MIke, i told you i know my s***. haha

yea but the margin isnt as big as people think. People are faster because they wear half the pads. But the players today lack the passion, meanness, grittiness, and toughness of the older players. Almost all players from the 70s to the 90s had the toughness of ray lewis and urlacher and such. Go watch old games when players were bleeding and their hands wer all taped up and torn up and dirty with ripped jerseys and all that. that was grown man football. Real Football. so fun to watch.
