A BP is a BP regardless of the paint job, some are voracious some are not, the key is to provide optimal husbandry and be patient.
Depending on the animal's age, time of the year refusal or fast can be perfectly normal.
There are a few however that are truly picky eaters those are exceptions not the norm and again the paint job as nothing to do with it.
Some will say spiders eat great, I have seen some being poor feeders, some will say pied are poor eaters I have seen some eating like horses, each animal is different.
