    Need advice on bad breeder

So there is a vendor that goes to most of the shows in my area, and this business has completely lost all of my respect. At first, I saw their sick animals and thought, nobody is going to buy from them. They won't be around for long. Well that was about 1 1/2 years ago so now I'm not sure what to do. I do not vend the shows but do have friends that have tables. They all call this person a "death dealer". They buy Bp's in bulk and what sells sells and what doesn't, they mark them half off "problem feeders" hoping to unload them before they die. I've heard from my vendor friends that they know a lot of customers that have bought from them and the animal doesn't make it.

Poor animals... Most of the babies they have are skin and bones, have stuck sheds, etc. I really don't know how they stay in business.

So I've complained to the places that host the shows and warn as many people as I can, but what else can I do?

If you have proof, then you can post on the BOI. Without proof, I would just stay out of it. There are bad breeders out there and word spreads. Promoters of the show have no way of knowing who is good, who is flipping or who is not taking care of their animals. Promoters also need to be paid for their event to cover their costs, so it is hard to turn away paying customers.

I could take pictures for proof at the next show. Right now I don't have anything though. At first I did try to stay out of it thinking that people wouldn't buy from them, but they are still around. I'm just struggling with knowing they are being so irresponsible and not doing much I guess.

I would take pictures so you have proof. If you do a bad guy thread in the BOI's without proof you'll be eaten alive. Otherwise find someone who has bought a snake from them and it was sick and/or died and tell them to put up a thread.

Oh and you can post that stuff on this side in the Inquiry section, and/or on fauna in the Inquiry section.

Would a thread even do anything? If the animals are that bad off, I would think it's first time buyers. Anyone else would know not to buy from them.

I would talk to your friends that vend that show. Get them to stand together and talk to the person who runs the show.

The person selling sick animals is hurting every vendor there. The first time buyer that has a snake die on them might not remember that vendor, but they will remember that expo and never come back.

The vendors should stick together and get that guy out of there.

    Good luck.

If it's the vendor/promoter that I think you are talking about, there have been numerous threads about him (even a facebook page just for posting bad stuff). The guy I'm talking about has been in the business for more than 20 years. Good luck getting rid of him (not sarcasm, I REALLY do wish you good luck!)

Post an info thread on the BOI, not a bad guy. An info thread will invite people who have actually had transactions with the mentioned seller to share their stories. If you haven't actually had a transaction with a breeder/vendor, I would suggest against starting a bad guy thread.
