This is incredibly disheartening because I can only imagine that this will reflect very poorly on the reputable breeders not to mention that all the animals that had to suffer in these conditions also that apparently that the remaining stock could not be saved... however, that doesn't seem to be out of the standard for PETA since their shelters often euthanize tons of dogs/cats ever year as it is.
I mean, this community already has to put up with so much BS and then people like this come along and the stigmas just get worse and worse and worse. Not to mention that PETA involvement always puts me on edge as well...

Deplorable. How in the "F" can someone honestly call themselves a human.. let alone a breeder and let something like that happen? It sickens me to see this... Sickens me even more that it was allowed to get to those extremes.. The employees should have done something, PETA's involvement is a double edge sword in this case.. Like several others those four letters in combination to each other gives me the heebee jeebees.. But in this case... I'm torn.. I don't know what to think.. Inside is rage, remorse, and bittersweet gratitude. There are so many things our beloved community doesn't need... And this tops the list..
What a F'in shame... I hope he gets his just desserts in the end..

Actually, this is incorrect. They want to kill all your animals, since they couldn't survive introduction to the wild and then prevent any more from being kept by anyone for anything. They're about as much about freedom as I am about politeness at all costs.
You really should have your facts straight before you go trying to be funny. Some folks might actually believe you.

When I was young and an idiot, I actually worked for them. That's what they told me.

They tell a lot of people a lot of things. They also lie quite a bit.

I am saddened by the fact they put ALL of those reptiles down. I believe they should of all had a chance. I have worked in similar situations to this, with snakes and reptiles all illy treated - some not having water for weeks, RI infections, protected animals taken form the wild, other dying of starvation, severe burns, etc. But I didn't put them down. No, I spent time and addressed all their health issues to the best of my ability.
I just wished that the government reached out to the herpetology community more. I'm sure people would of taken some of them. I know I would of volunteered and stuck them somewhere far in the house for quarantine. The problem is that NO ONE in that county team probably had ANY experience with reptiles. I just hope they at least had good intent through their core.
At least those poor animals are out of their misery in the great cloud in the sky, where their are hides galore for the ball ptyhons and adventures for them all (with lots of food and water).
In fact, to remember the animals, I have decided to name my new reptile Love, and one feeder rat is now going to live its life in peace from my live feeders with a big ten gallon.
About PETA, I agree that it is a double edge sword. I'm glad that it has been addressed, but PETA is NUTS!!! And the lady who runs it doesn't even qualify as nuts, for she is worse than that. They have a higher kill rate than nearly all animal controls, and they attack children. I've seen it. In the FFA, I remember PETA people making a toddler cry for showing its rabbit. They are a big money sucker and do nearly nothing in return for the animals. There was a documentary I watched about them a long time ago, and I remember it, but I don't remember the name of the documentary exactly. However, I cleary remember the booklets given to children saying, "Your Mommy Kills" with the cover picture of a mother knifing a rabbit. Another scene with the main lady saying animals should be free. Something about a campaign saying beer over milk. And tons of other crazy stuff.
For FFA/4-H/etc, they have a whole course about dealing with the PETA people, that you have to take in order to be allowed to show in the state fairs, because they can be that vicious, specifically with the youth.
