This is a worry some notion. Permethrin is very toxic at less than 1% higher concentrations should be avoided unless you have access to proper facilities. NEVER forget that it is highly toxic to reptiles and other cold blooded animals it should be used and treated with the caution it deserves. Remember Permethrin was used to control the brown snake.
