Home depot - you can get a full size dedicated deep freezer for around 170-200. It's steep, but you don't want to risk losing all of your food should you get something cheap that quickly becomes ineffective. I use to keep mine with the icecream and frozen meat, but when I started reading on zoonotic diseases that were not killed by freezing and found in rats, I decided it wasn't worth the risk so I got my own deep freezer. Now I order 100% Box loads at a time minimum and works great.

6 months solid without worry, I've heard of people storing them up to a year and still being ok. Vacuum or ziplock I have not noticed a difference as long as they are sealed and not all defrosted at any given time

I had the same problem, my wife wasn't having f/t in her freezer. I checked on CL and found a mini freezer for $50 that can hold hundreds of rats in different combos of pinkies, smalls, weanlings, mediums, etc. As long as you have the room for the freezer. But check CL before you go out buying a new one. People sell cheap deep freezers on there all the time.

At least for me, it's not about it touching food (I used to keep my feeders in the freezer with my food when I only had one or two snakes). Right now, it's about the other people in my house not liking the fact that there are rodents in the freezer touching THEIR food. I think it's more of a gross factor for them. So I just am being respectful and removing the rodents from the freezer all together so they don't have to see them.

I store mine in the freezer with our food too. My wife isn't thrilled with it but she tolerates it. I keep them wrapped in a ziplock bag and then put that bag in one of those plastic rectangle Chinese food containers. I label the container so no one is surprised.
