I was reloading 9mm this morning, and looking at this thread got me wondering how much powder goes into a .50 BMG round. Apparently a pound of powder only makes about 30-35 rounds of .50 BMG, depending on which powder and what your exact charge is, whereas a pound of the Alliant Unique I use for pistol loads makes around 1200 9mms. .50 BMG seems like an expensive hobby, but I bet it's fun...

I'm wondering if you're talking about the Taurus PT1911 if so there are a few things with the 1911 platform that can cause miss-feeds and other issues..

Side note..here is my Rock Island Tatical in .45 ACP

Its against CITES (and all updates of it) and you end up in either an African state's prison system or the US federal prison system for LOOOOOOOONG time and pretty much owe thousands of dollars as well

For the hunting experience, many hunters enjoy the being outdoors and learning about the animals. harvesting the animal is only the last 20 seconds of a hunt..Also with many of those speices like elephant the meat is donated to local villages to help feed familys. One jumbo will feed a village for a month or more, plus you're hiering local bushmen for packers and trackers spotters and animal cleaning and field dressing so going on a hunt like that really helps in a direct way the local people..

Well, the "cheap" American eagle is about $2.50 per round and has 660 grains, whereas my Hornady has 750 grains, and is closer to $6.00 a round lol. It's expensive but it is worth it in my opinion. Just the percussion of the blast and wind pushing your clothes against your body is amazing.

I don't doubt it - I'd probably want to double up on hearing protection just to be on the same range with you.
