    Thanks for the tips and support.Belly is gradually shrinking so I'm sure that's not a worry.Suspect it'll be a while before he/she sheds so probably delay any feeding attempts until after that.Hopefully not too much weight loss meantime(12g tonight)Recent clutch(all about 75g) from same caramel sire and a large normal female were really slow to establish feeding .Hope it's not a heritable trait from dad's side!

    I had hatchlings miss their first shed. and average size hatchlings that also missed it. don't use the first shed as a sign when to start feeding. go by time and the condition of the hatchling. I've assist fed many and I try and let them eat on their own. you never want to panic and jump the gun, as it's very stressful on them. but with hatchlings that are so tiny, it's different, they usually need help much sooner if the don't start by themself. good luck and keep us posted, don

    4 siblings all shed.''Titch'' looking a bit blue so I'll leave her a bit longer before offering food/assist feeding.Would like to see the belly gone before feeding.Thanks for all the transatlantic support!
