A picture would help. Can you post one for us? Just upload to somewhere like photobucket then just copy and paste the url into your post here.
They can sometimes appear a bit swollen when they are about to shed, but usually it is barely noticable at best. Hopefully, that's all it is, but a picture would help us say with more certainty....
