The Windex thing is true! It works way better than lotion. Cram a too-small ring on your finger and see for yourself And it doesn't leave a film like soap/lotion, so if you have to use it to get your clean ring back on, it stays clean.

The partner-touch-it plan is a good one. I've used it for nasty watches ("Could you do this one? I tried and tried, but I just cannot get the back off of it."). It usually works for that. But when dealing with a finger locker, everyone else sees it happen too and they scatter like cockroaches to avoid a clever hand off.
Adversity does not build character, it reveals it

So Mike, you're saying that someone should yell, before someone spits on their hand, "don't worry, I've got some lube over here?" You're just wrong, man.

I wouldnt even give them that choice though. They'd walk through the door and id say "windex or lotion?".

Grimace in disgust and slowly put on a glove before touching the ring. Then handle it like it's a bomb that's about to explode in your face.

I just have to say this... While I do initially think the finger licking thing is gross, I've spent the last 2 years trying to not be a hipocrite. Which means I consciously think about everything with the shoe on the other foot now, or I think about other related things that I may have done before slamming anyone else for it. I realized that everyone is a hipocrite (am I spelling that right?) so I'm trying to improve that about myself..

    So anyway..

The entire germ thing is a huge one to point out because just think about all the places you put your mouth.. Think about all the things you touch and then touch your face, or mouth, or whatever.. In your day to day life. Wether you're being intimate with someone, eating dinner at a restaurant, or petting your dog that licks himself all the time and rolls around on the ground.. Let's not get into cats that walk in litter boxes..

We can't avoid germs. Yeah it sounds gross, and I'd give someone a funny look if they licked their finger to take a ring off and tried to hand it to me too, but then I'd think about everything else and realize hey! That's nothing compared to what I'm exposed to daily. If I wasn't, my immune system wouldn't be worth a dime.

    Lol gross.

I always ask if they have lotion. Maybe keep a bottle of lotion handy that they can see?
