    First lock? Either way exciting

So I am very new to the ball python morph craze let alone breeding. I have a male spider at around 950 grams, a female normal at around 1000 grams and a female normal at around 1500 grams. I threw the male spider in with the 1500 gram female nearly 3-5 hours ago and it seems as though they are already getting to know each other! Probably just nothing I know and it probably wouldn't matter any way because the female is not in ovulation but hey, I need to do a little more research and figure out just exactly what I am doing and exactly when it is time to breed... So far I am liking bp.net.. Lots of useful info [IMG][/IMG]

Must be, according to their other thread. Which means quarantine means nothing at this point.. Hmmm

Hopefully none of them were sick or with mites.. Not a good way to start a breeding program or earn trust for future sales that's for sure.

To the OP: It's a good idea to get your enclosures and/or racks all set up properly with proper thermostat controlled heat, humidity, digital probed thermometer etc, before jumping into breeding. Then it's an even better idea to practice proper quarantine procedure with any and all new animals you obtain.

I wouldn't throw my snake in with one that I just got...I would keep them seperated from now on and hope she didn't have anything could of spread to your male. And I would do more research on breeding. I didn't jump in personally until 4 years after learning and researching everything I could.

The OP just acquired all 3 of their balls within the last week. Got the spider off of CL the 9th or 10th and then the two females shortly after. When they said they are new to breeding they weren't joking. They have only just begun keeping them a week ago. Breeding should be the least of their worries. Especially with CL animals and no quarantine practice.
