What to do during power outages?
So I haven't had power since Monday other than a small generator for my collection. I really haven't done much other than keep it going and eating.
So what does everyone else do during a power outage?

I just relax and wait it out. Watch movies on my laptop or read.
I live in California so the temps don't drop low enough for me to worry about my snakes. Especially indoors.
And if it did, I have a back up plan to fill up water bottles with hot water to keep the racks warm.
I have food and water for myself and the animals so it's all good.

We have a small generator that we got after last year's tornadoes, and thankfully we've never had to use it. I also keep instant hand warmers for emergencies, and for any small animals that I rescue.
My mom has to use a CPAP mask to sleep, so the only two things that really have to run are her mask and the snake's heating pad, though if it's for an extended period of time, I may have to use it to run some lights for my plants.

Mollesting your significant other is always fun when the power goes out. not sure if the wife likes it as much as i do but on the plus side it's also a nice way to keep warm.

Re: What to do during power outages?
I guess it kinna depends on how long the power will be out. If it's a really long outage, like more than 2 hours I usually start busting apart the furniture and use it to build a bonfire in the center of the living room, get naked and dance around the fire chanting to the electricity gods and sacrificing rodents to appease them. Much longer and I loose all traces of civility and it gets weird... I'd rather not talk about that.

If temps get to low, you will need to move everyone to the indoor most room of your house (less heat loss). This has been a big discussion item in my Oklahoma group on Facebook, we all came to the conclusion that the Hot Hands heat packs that last a couple hours each are the best bet for a freeze power outage and that everyone would be moved to the central room together to maintain residual heat.

I took lots but then the electricity gods demanded them so I had to burn them
