You aren't the first person to be the victim of bad pet shop information. The important thing now is that you are trying to change things. Whatever you decide to do, don't go crazy and try and feed her a jumbo rat to make up for it.

Just take your time, start out with something a little bit bigger than she is used to, and go from there. Or, if rats are out of your reach at the moment, just offer her the two mice, or even three if she's interested.

Thank you I'm doing my best to give her a good home I only wanna offer best care to all my animals. I started figuring petco didn't know anything when they tried telling me my carpet would prefer mice over rats 😳 that was back when I first got her (she an adult rescuse that doesn't like eatting.) but soon ill have rats I'm waitin for my starter four to get busy lol. Thank you for everyone's responses knowledge is always useful an im gonna keep up the two and trying a third until my rats are ready give her some more weight. I gotta buy a scale once I have some money an can order one petco charges an arm and a leg for there's and it looks cheap.

Hit up your local Wal-Mart. Go to the kitchen isle. Buy the digital kitchen scale. It costs around $15, and will weigh up to 11 pound usually.

K next time I'm at wall Mart ill go check that out just waiting for money to come in so sick of living pay check to pay check. One day ill be done with college and a fire man I can't wait to have a good payin job.

I would have if I could, I listened to petco about feeding them mice till I learned rats are better option and now my problem is is there is noone that sells small enough rats by me. Petco sells rats for feeders but they never oder small enough ones for a bp their all larges or xtra larges so I picked up a female and a male from up north to start breeding them so i have rats for my ball and rats for my carpet. The carpet eats jumbos so I'm able to buy them from petco that's the normal sized live rats they have. And sadly since she refused to eat this past month i still have a hooded male from them that im naming lucky and will be getting another female and upping my breeding Hope that made sense sounded like I was rambling a bit too myself
The carpet gets offered a rat once a week but she's been refusing it for a month now she's my newish snake and has only ate twice for me two jumbos, been a month since last ate and had her for probably two months now
