New baby Bumblebee! Nervous newbie

You know I have 17 baby's that I got in the last 6 month but the 2 Bumblebees I got are more shy than all the rest I think its just a coincidence but still funny.

Just wanted to update everyone and say Severus ATE for me!! He was fed live mice at the breeder but I grabbed a frozen mouse for him tonight and gave it a try. Within 5 seconds of me putting it in his cage, he grabbed it right up and made sure to kill it for a looooong time....LOL. I'm so thrilled!!! He can't hate it here too much if he's already eating, and f/t to boot!

Ball pythons like small spaces as it makes them feel more secure.

I had a pastel girl that was about 5 weeks old when I bought her and it took her 32 days to take food after bringing her home. Ball pythons will go on hunger strikes and I have read in here about them going in excess of 8 months without food!!!! Your guy he should be on a 5 day feeding schedule at this age. Offer him food on Sunday as you are planning and if he doesn't take it... Wait five more days, possibly more. Don't try and keep offering every couple days it will stress him out even more.

I use a rack system and LOVE it!!!! Just remember... Fish tanked are for FISH, not Ball Pythons!!!!

Fish tanks are for fish...Not ball pythons?
Some people prefer to have their snakes in a nice enclosure where they have room to roam/climb and where it looks more natural. Not in a rubbermaid container with newspaper, water and a a hide.
I understand some people with multiple snakes/breeders might have to do this but dont tell someone with one or two snakes that their snake shouldnt be in a tank.
Then again, thats just my opinion. But my snakes seem to be happy in tanks.

There's other options for "display" type of enclosures than tanks.

My PVC enclosure is effortless. I don't need to mist for humidity to stay at 50% at all times. Temperatures do not change drastically as tanks can either.

Hi everyone! I'm new to snakes but not new to reptiles...I've had many in the past and currently have a zoo at home. Being a vet tech doesn't help keep my pet population from growing LOL. I have 3 dogs, 1 cat, 5 bearded dragons and my new addition is Severus my little bumblebee BP! I'm so excited he's finally here and sooo beautiful. When I opened the box, I seriously thought WOW..this doesn't even LOOK like a BP! LOL. He's from American Made Exotics and is 85 grams right now. I have to find out the age, I forgot to ask his hatch date (any guesses?)

He came yesterday, and is scared to death of me. He's been hanging out in the warm side's cave. I did pull him out once to show my boyfriend, and placed him by the water bowl. He drank for quite a long time and then explored a little. I want to watch him and hold him so badly but I know I have to wait and he's really stressed. Do you think I should offer him food this weekend? His last meal was at the breeder about a week ago. I just don't know if he's too stressed to eat, but I guess there's only one way to find out

These are some really crappy pics, they don't do him justice. I didn't want to scare him anymore than I had to, so I just snapped these really quickly with my phone. Feel free to critique the cage or anything. I could use any tips from anyone. (The dome fixture on the left is a ceramic heat emitter, and the strip light is not in use, was an old BD cage).

Hi there, thanks for the nice welcome! Trust me, I'll be back with tons of questions and pictures I don't have Severus in a tank, he's actually in a custom built enclosure that was built by a snake breeder, for one of my bearded dragons a while ago. Right now temps and humidity seem pretty good. He's exploring the tank a little, hanging out on the cool side now. I take it as him feeling a little more comfortable.

I don't notice any signs of wobbling...yet. I haven't handled him much at all because he's so new, and when I did he was so shy and curled up 90% of the time. When he went in for the kill on the f/t mouse, there was no wobble at all and he was QUICK and dead-on. I really hope he turns out ok, figures I had to pick a morph with an "issue" but I love him and the morph! Yellow has always been my favorite reptile color...I try to keep the citrus/yellow theme with my dragons but they don't always turn out how we think they will.

Where you get your tubs from?

I get them from a guy in Calgary Alberta, Greg West @ Cornell's World. He builds all kinds of custom enclosures. Great to deal with and pricing is awesome.

Sorry if you took offense to that. But yes ball pythons do not belong in fish tanks. There are plenty of options for custom made PVC enclosures. I am sure your BP is doing great in your FISH tank. Just think of how much better her would do in the proper enclosure.

I have 2 bees, and I adore them. If your bee does develop a bit of a wobble, he.should be fine.

I find it adds personality :p
