    changing weather and issues

ok As we all know it getting cooler out , and were i am staying with fiance ( moved in now ) and such the sister doesn't want to run the heater yet so it causing temperatures in the house to go up and down daily. ( I I think that one of my snakes is startting to get an RI ) and 3 other are possible sick. ( sadly until sthe sister moves out we don't have a set snake room so all snakes are in our room and I doubt the wife will want to sleep in a 75+ degree room all the time. )
I am using flexwatt ) for the hot side and the tempratures seem to be staying in the low 90's . SO if I bump the tstat up a few degrees will this solve most the issues or is there other steps I need/ can take to help fight the RI ( one snake popping when breathing) the other 3 just got some slight bubbling from mouth. ) know they all keep pushing their water bowls over the heated side then wrapping around it creating high humidity.

We do have a vet appointment for my other snake ichigo ( who seem to got a sore ofsome types on one side and got real better with shots it cleared up mostly but in the last 2 weeks it to desided to cross his belly and start up the other side ( and causing some scale rot on that side) but on the orginal side looks like he to 2 little sores developed puss that formed in the last 2 days. so Taking him back to the vet and see about stronger meds. but if this all keeps up I do believe I will take my snakes back to my mothers and(were I can set a room aside and put a space heater to keep a set tempature for them during the cooler part of the day). I just hope that I am just worng on the RI cause I hate to see more snakes sick or even taking the chance and loosing them since they are the pride of my life. ( and they our children. )

Are you using a rack? how cold is the room? Flexwatt probably isn't going to cut it... bumping up the thermostat isn't going to do much.

Why don't you get an oil filled heater to heat a single room?

I doubt the wife will willing sleep in a warmer room. that why no heater ( heck this place needs more outlets now. ) I got her rack at 93( tstat setting) but it kicks on and off so much I doubt it evern warming the rack enough ( my other rack seems ot be warming a lot better)
Her rack uses 11 in wide pieces that only a 12 long . were the other rack using a longer 3 in wide strip.

If you consider your snakes your children, then why don't you do what it takes to give them proper care.

Look if my kids needed heat, i'd give'em heat.... I'd crank the heat up in that room so fast it'id make my fiancee's head melt...... Tell her to go sleep on the couch until the kids get well.....and if you have to, sleep with a fan pointed directely on you.....

time to man up here....GET SOME HEAT FOR YOUR CHILDREN ! ! ! !

Look you got some snakes with bubbles comming out of their mouths and are popping and wheesing when they breath, another with scale rot, sounds like you have some serious husbandry issues.

How does someone who has kept snakes as long as you have, allow them to get in such a sad state of affairs.....

Don't mean to be harsh here but, I wouldn't want to be your kids.....

Many here like myself have kept snakes for well over a decade.... and I have never had a snake get sick in anyway shape or form knock on wood...and I will say, I don't consider any of my snakes as my children....but if one of my snakes should show any sign of illness I would get them to the doc........

well found out they are find ( someone I know closer by came by and check them out ( know more about Ri ) and said I was just worring due ot the eweathe changing .( he right I already got the heater running at my mothers for the 4 I not gor rack space here for) He pointed out that it was prolly cause ther front of the tub are wet ( from the high humidity and that i could either drill more holes in tub or put a smaller water bowl in. He say i may of picked her up and she had water in her nose ( cause she was rubbing son the front o get out 0 she likes her tub open but hates being picked up ) and just managed o make some bubbles due to the moisture.
I am takedn a extra step to be safe and have taken a blackent to lay over the rack as insulation until I can can get some foam board to insualt the racks with.. ( which will notgo over with wife well bu t hey I tell her it either that or a space heater.

Boafa I had snakes since I was 15 ( and soon to be 36 ) I never had a snake get sick on me. minor scrapes or if i recieved it sick as a rescue ( which always cleared up for me. ) My real first issue been with my butter ichigo . while at my mother ( I was living up her with fiace/wife) I had gone home and was feeeding the snake andhe was find one day the next he had a large welt and scratched up side ( I fed him a ft) so I figure he tried to get out of tub and scratched himself. I brought him up with me so I can keep it clean and take ot the vet if I needed too if got worst. well it got more swelled over night. took to vet said was soem infectino and gace shots. started to go away andbut came back( travlled accorss belly and up othe side ) and seems to gotten worst. well He gonig tomorrow to the vet ( since it was preplanned I just took his water bowl away cause he tryingo t soak in it and I think causeing bateria to grow so I betting another round of shots ( going to ask for a stronger med ) and g though the needle thing again.)

I personally hate needles of any kind ( I can't even give my snake one I have to hold him and turn my head aand let someone else give shots. but i can watch getting atattoo done no problem lol..
