I'm normally irritated that now I have to stop and wash up. Getting bit just slows me down..expecially when they hang on.

Not from a ball python... They have tiny teeth.

What are you afraid of? Most of the members on this forum think ball python bites are comical because they are so minor, mostly just annoying. None painful and the bleeding stops within minutes.

I think a paper cut or a scratch from my cat would hurt much worse. If you can handle a paper cut you can handle a good chewing from a BP.

I usually yell at them and ask "seriously", and then I move on. It makes me mad at myself because it is generally from me doing something stupid or careless.

I've only been tagged a few times, but after the fact, I always marvel at how FAST they are...by the time I realized I'd been bit, the snake is right back where it was before it struck at me...except when they think I'm dinner....

I haven't been bit in a while but when I have get bit my reaction depends on who did the biting. My first bite was horrible. I was bit my by then sub adult female on the palm of my hand. She hit me so hard that I could see where all of her teeth entered my hand. My main thought then was okay, put her away, clean the bite and then hold her tomorrow. I wasn't going to let her win and my mistake was not giving her the respect she deserves. The one time she bit me and constricted I laughed at her. I ended up running her under water to get to let go.

If one of my hatchlings tries to bit me I just laugh, they're so cute when they think they are though. If my male enchi bites me I yell saying so not so very nice things about him. He's gotten much better, but he was a little demon for a while. Nothing has been as bad as the first though, and honestly I'd rather be bit my all of my snakes in the same day than scratched by my cat. Snake bites heal faster and don't hurt as much.
