Yeah we all wish that after a lock a clutch arrives in 45 days or so. If it were that easy would this hobby really be any fun? They may lock but that does not guarantee she will lay. Patience is key. Keep at it and good luck.

My pair locked many times last season (I started VERY late), to no avail. I could swear I heard them arguing about whether or not to go the fertilization clinic! LOL
