My first ball python! Picture heavy

HELLO everyone! You have probably seen me around the general and husbandry subforum.
Well I finally got my first ball python from Robert Seib.
She's a hatchling, female albino ball python and she weighs 176 grams. I don't know her birthday but I emailed the breeder for it.
She's very curious. I was expecting her to just stay balled up in her hide for a week but she was fearless. Just hanging around and watching me and my brother stare at her. I picked her up while she poked her head out of her hide and she didn't ball up at all. She just tongue flicked me and waited to be transported to her tank.

The hotspot got too hot while I was driving to the breeders house so she sat in my room on my computer desk for 10 minutes while it cooled down.

I put a hide over her while I was using the computer because I remembered they were secretive creatures. She poked her head out 3 minutes later

I put her in her cage and she spent about 45 minutes slowly exploring. She sat on top of the accurite thermometer for 15 minutes....


When I walked closer to the tank, she made a beeline for me and tongue flicked at me a couple of times


After she finished exploring she went to the warm side and fell asleep I guess.

You said the hotpot got too hot? What are you using to regulate the heat source? Do you have a thermostat?

The hotspot was at 90F but the breeder (Robert Seib) told me he would prefer it and really really wanted me to turn it down to 86-88 degrees.
I am using a VE 300

Yeah I already want a female normal... NOO it's happening! My college student wallet can't handle this haha!
